Take This Waltz is a feature I shot last summer directed by Sarah Polley. It's hitting Theaters this summer on June 7th.

The is one of the finest films i've ever been involved with.

I always believe that the glass one decides to shoot with is equal to the kind of canvas a painter selects. The texture of the canvas contributes greatly to how one perceives the image before them. Sometimes you can feel the weave of the canvas through the oils or acrylics.

It's this combination of paint and material that creates the end result.

I look forward to sharing some upcoming set stories with you from Ruba Nadda's new feature "Inescapable". I've been in production abroad for the last two months, and it turned out to be a great experience.

I finally got my hands on the RED Epic to shoot some tests. I took the camera through it's paces, and look forward to seeing the footage in Technicolor Toronto's DI Theater. I shot using Panavision's G-Series Anamorphic Primes-- the best lenses on the planet. Stay tuned for my findings.

I admire the concept behind these portraits-- How light can engage the viewer and force us to see the unseen. I find myself imagining what these people look like. It forces a narrative through light & shadow. For me, this is the essence of all great photography.

This web site inspires me a great deal. These photographers capture nature overtaking man's objects in ways that carry emotion and beauty. Framing, color, contrast. They all sing.

Spent the night presenting Take This Waltz to a very receptive audience. This is a photo of the Capitol Theater. It was built in the 20's and is still showing films to this day. It's an amazing old Theater.
